Red Card Studios compares the launching of their new, sleek website to “giving birth”
SEATTLE, WA—August 29, 2006—“The sad part is it really did weigh us down for nine months before we finally released it to the world,” joked Phil Etting, principal for Red Card Studios, a design firm with offices in Seattle and Los Angeles. He’s speaking about the company’s recently renovated website, which was “unleashed” to the world on August 29, 2006. The lengthy development process leading up to the unveiling of the new site has become synonymous with “giving birth” in the inner circles of the company.
Red Card Studios has grown exponentially over the past several years. With an expanding client base and substantial repeat business, the company’s earnings to July 31, 2006, are double what they were for this period in 2005. “We’ve been so preoccupied developing visual identities and creative solutions for our clients,” says Etting, “that we haven’t had time until now to update our own visual identity.”
Red Card Studios officially launched in 2001, but the core team has worked together consistently since 1996. They were the main design and production team for the Codie Award-nominated CD-ROM Survivors: Testimonies of the Holocaust for Steven Spielberg’s Shoah Foundation They also led the way in Flash Design and Innovation at the Walt Disney Internet Group. As Red Card Studios, the company has become a trusted and valued vendor to Microsoft since 2003.
“We’re really proud of the new site,” notes Patrick Skidmore, another Red Card principal. “The design is cleaner, the content clearer and easier to access. I think the new site really reflects how we’ve matured and grown as a company.”
After pausing for a moment, he adds with a smile, “But really, it’s just nice to know that our Portfolio and News page finally shows that we’ve done some work since 2003.”
