Silverlight is Business Critical

Red Card Studios designs and develops a series of product demos for Intel and Microsoft using Microsoft’s Silverlight technology.

SEATTLE, WA—September 01, 2009—For years, Red Card Studios, a creative studio with offices in Seattle and New York City, has been providing its clients with high quality product demos and software simulations built in Adobe Flash. Recently, Prowess Consulting, a technology marketing and content development company with offices in Seattle, approached Red Card Studios about partnering up to create a series of similar style product demos for Intel and Microsoft using Microsoft’s Silverlight technology. The result is the Intel Xeon Processors and Windows Server 2008 R2 for Business-Critical Applications series of product demos.

“The challenge for us was to maintain or exceed the same quality of work - technically and creatively - that we’ve been producing for years in Flash in a different technology (Silverlight),” notes Red Card Managing Partner Patrick Skidmore who managed the Business-Critical Applications project. “It’s a completely different beast than Flash that’s for sure. Prowess' expectations were understandably high given the work we had done for them in the past, but, on all accounts, our team met and exceeded all expectations with this new technology. We managed to achieve the same level of animation and creativity we are known for in the demonstrations, and integrate dynamic content coming in from an external XML structure (for localization) into the UI.”

Red Card built two versions of the Silverlight demo for their client - An online version as well as a self-contained executable version for presentation purposes.
