Online Restoration for Conservation Solutions

Red Card Studios designs and integrates a robust, dynamic web solution for Conservation Solutions.

SEATTLE, WA—August 01, 2008—Conservation Solutions, a company focused on the preservation of historic and artistic artifacts from around the world, found themselves in the midst of a rebuilding predicament of a different kind in mid-2008. Boxed in by a static HTML site, they felt hindered by an inability to update their content easily, a website that yielded unsuccessful search engine results, and an out of date look and feel. In late March of 2008, they turned to Red Card Studios, a creative studio with offices in Seattle and Los Angeles, to help them renovate their site.

“They had a lot of content - both text and media - so their main focus was on the integration of an easy-to-use content management system that they could maintain, with the secondary focus of bringing a new, vibrant look to their website,” says Red Card Managing Partner Phil Etting. “Using the WordPress engine as a base to manage the content, we created a customized PHP and CSS solution to help achieve both goals simultaneously.”

“We didn't just need our website to look good, we needed to be able to allow clients to access updated information,” notes Conservation Solutions Assistant Vice-President Tina Stephens. “The solution that Red Card provided gave us the ability to maintain all of our content with ease - from photos, to text, to documents - all from an easy-to-use backend content management system.”

The resulting website, which can now be seen at www.conservationsolution.com, is a careful balance of bold design with an easy to customize content management system - allowing clients to navigate easily through all of Conservation Solutions' information and media while allowing Conservation Solutions to manage all of their content intuitively from one interface.

“Red Card not only handled the design and integration of our website, but the installation, migration, and even the documentation of the content management system for us,” continues Ms. Stephens. “The staff at Red Card was very professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. All of the timelines that were set up in the beginning of the project were met and even exceeded at times. This was a great overall experience and investment.”
